Delta Biogas Facility Honoured with 2025 VRCA Silver Award
A major win for clean energy innovation in B.C.’s construction industry
The Delta-based Biogas Facility has secured a prestigious 2025 VRCA Silver Award, celebrating a milestone achievement in sustainable construction and clean energy development. Recognized by the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA), the award highlights the project’s excellence in the General Contractors – Civil/Industrial Construction (up to $30 million) category.
The facility, located at 5400 72nd Street in Delta, sits on the City of Vancouver landfill and was developed by Graham Infrastructure LP. Backed by FortisBC in partnership with the City of Vancouver, the $29-million project is a powerful step forward in producing renewable natural gas by capturing and converting methane-rich landfill gas into usable heat for homes and businesses.
This year, VRCA received 96 project submissions across 18 categories, totaling a combined value of over $4.9 billion. Of those, 75 projects pre-qualified — making Delta’s recognition all the more impressive.
Jeannine Martin, president of the VRCA, praised the recipients, stating, “Our Silver Award winners aren’t just putting up walls and beams — they’re creating legacies.” She emphasized how the industry is evolving, driven by innovation, inclusivity, and problem-solving.
Silver Award winners now advance to the final stage and will compete for the Gold Awards, set to be announced at the VRCA Awards of Excellence Gala on September 19 in Vancouver.
