Lights, Camera, Langley!

Canada’s most thrilling cross-country competition is making a pit stop where you might least expect it—right in the heart of B.C.’s Fraser Valley. That’s right, ‘The Amazing Race Canada’ is bringing its high-energy action to Langley in the Tuesday, July 22 episode airing at 9 p.m. on CTV.

And yes, it’s as exciting as it sounds.

Martini Town Takes Center Stage

One of the standout filming spots is Martini Town, a 16-acre backlot in Aldergrove known for its movie-like New York City streetscape. From Apple TV’s Schmigadoon! to CW’s Kung Fu and countless Hallmark flicks, this set has seen it all.

“Martini Town is the only backlot of its kind in B.C.,” said Gemma Martini, CEO of Martini Studios. “It’s used for all kinds of productions.”

Naturally, it was the perfect place for a challenge-packed episode of The Amazing Race Canada. Planning for the shoot began in January, with filming wrapping up in April.

Local Gems in the Spotlight

While Tourism Langley is keeping most details under wraps until air time, they’ve confirmed the episode features scenes from:

  • Fort Langley – Home to the Ancestor Cafe, operated by Indigenous chef Sarah Mireau of Tradish Canada
  • The Village Antiques Mall, a 10,000-square-foot treasure trove along Mavis Avenue
  • And just next door in Abbotsford, host Jon Montgomery was spotted with Ty Young of the Abbotsford Canucks

Photos from the shoot give fans a sneak peek—showing Montgomery smiling alongside locals, soaking up the small-town charm.

A Win for the Community

Behind the scenes, Tourism Langley played a key role in bringing the show to town, connecting CTV’s production crew with Martini Studios. For locals, the impact goes beyond just screen time.

“When you have filming in your community, there’s always a positive impact on cafes, shops, restaurants, and other small businesses,” Martini shared.

And that boost? It’s something you can’t put a price on—especially for the vibrant small businesses that define Langley and its surroundings.

Tune In and Spot the Landmarks!

So whether you’re a die-hard Amazing Race fan or just love seeing your backyard on the big screen, make sure to catch the Fraser Valley episode this Tuesday. You might just recognize a few familiar places—and faces—along the way.
