White Rock to crown 2025 youth ambassadors at a roaring ’20s-themed gala on July 18 at Oceana PARC Playhouse. A dazzling finale to months of training.

Community to Celebrate Future Leaders in Style

The city’s long-running youth leadership tradition will take centre stage on Friday, July 18, as the 72nd annual White Rock Youth Ambassadors Gala unfolds in full Roaring ’20s splendour at the Oceana PARC Playhouse (1532 Johnston Rd). Hosted by the White Rock Players’ Club, the event will honour local teens completing an intensive ambassador candidacy program.

Gala Marks the Culmination of an 18-Month Program

The event serves as the final milestone for nine ambassador candidates, aged 15 to 17, who began their journey in January 2024. They represent Earl Marriott Secondary and Semiahmoo Secondary, having spent the past months participating in a comprehensive development program that includes essay writing, public speaking, talent showcases, and panel interviews.

“These are truly exceptional young individuals,” said Suzanne Smith, Executive Director of the White Rock Youth Ambassadors program. “They’ve grown tremendously through the process.”

Theatrical Flair Meets Public Service

The gala begins with a choreographed opening number, featuring all candidates and the retiring royalty. Onstage interviews will follow, where each participant shares personal insights, discusses their sponsors, and reflects on their experience. The evening includes a formal gown presentation and a crowning ceremony for the incoming youth royalty.

Crowning Ceremony and Award Presentation

Titles to be awarded include Miss or Mr. White Rock, two Princess/Principal Ambassador roles, and the Friendship Ambassador distinction. All remaining candidates will continue as youth ambassadors throughout 2025, representing White Rock at official events and regional programs.

Tickets Available Now

Tickets are on sale through the White Rock Players’ Club Box Office and Eventbrite. The gala begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by a post-event celebration at the White Rock Elks Club (1469 George St.), open to attendees and guests.
