Shots Fired in Langley Leaves One Injured, Roads Closed

A 48-year-old man was hospitalized following a shooting near Meadows Edge Park in Langley, B.C., on Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m. The incident occurred at Willoughby Way and 200 Street in the Langley Meadows neighbourhood. Langley RCMP are investigating and have not yet made any arrests. The injured man is in stable condition. Police cordoned off the area and implemented road closures, causing evening traffic delays. Authorities are asking anyone with information or video footage to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.

Gunfire Reported Near Langley Meadows

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred near Meadows Edge Park in Langley, B.C., on Sunday evening. Authorities say the incident took place shortly after 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Willoughby Way and 200 Street in the Langley Meadows neighbourhood.

Injured Man Transported to Hospital

Upon arrival, Langley RCMP officers discovered evidence indicating a shooting had taken place. A 48-year-old man was found injured and was transported to the hospital. According to RCMP Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, the man’s injuries are not life-threatening, and he is currently receiving medical assessment and care.

Police Secure Scene and Launch Investigation

The area around the scene was quickly cordoned off as officers began their investigation. Evidence markers and visible police presence were seen throughout the evening. Investigators have not yet confirmed a motive, and no arrests have been reported at this stage.

Road Closures Disrupt Evening Traffic

Motorists experienced delays due to road closures around Willoughby Way and 200 Street. RCMP have advised the public to avoid the area while officers continue canvassing for witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses.

Appeal for Public Assistance

Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. “If you witnessed the incident or have relevant dashcam or security footage, please contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200,” said Sgt. Sharoom in a public statement.
