A man in Surrey is under investigation after police found a pipe bomb, weapons, and ammunition in a room he previously occupied in a Newton home. The alarming discovery followed a wellness check on May 29, 2025, after a pharmacist and landlord expressed concerns about the evicted tenant, identified as Chan. Despite his eviction in March, Chan’s belongings—including explosives and weapons—remained in the house. Police obtained a search warrant and called in the bomb squad after confirming the presence of an improvised explosive device.
